This thriller, set in Chicago delves into the harsh realities of being homeless in America’s third largest metropolis. Dr. Carol Bartholomew has spent the last eighteen years working on a confidential experiment. Amidst this experiment, exists a world of its own where homeless teens and adults are disappearing by the hundreds, politicians are plotting and planning their state and nationwide takeovers, and outcasts have found solace in an underground cult. While detectives Hughes and Changas do their best to search for answers, bodies without organs begin to turn up, and Carol’s experiment is threatened to be exposed.
